Student Learning Outcomes
- Examine, synthesize, and integrate theories, research, and practices of leadership, organization, and governance that impact K-12 Educational Leadership and higher education institutions.
- Critique and apply qualitative, quantitative, and emerging assessment and research methods in the design and execution of evidence-based applied research activities.
- Develop an in-depth grounding of scholarship in the area related to the student's doctoral capstone project.
- Master the ability to communicate orally and in writing regarding issues of education and school/university leadership with a variety of stakeholder audiences (i.e., scholarly community, school/college/university leaders, educators, community members/ground, professional association, families, etc.)
Program Requirements
Transfer Coursework:
Educational Leadership concentration-transfer coursework (30 credits)
Students can transfer up to 30 credits from a CAS in educational leadership. These credits will serve as the K-12 leadership knowledge, skills, and dispositions foundation associated with the field of K-12 School Leadership and include content in the following areas: instructional leadership, supervision, educational equity, diverse learners/communities, organizational improvement/ systems, education law. Students who do not have a CAS will take 30 credits in educational leadership.

Higher Education concentration- transfer coursework (30 credits)
Students can transfer the following:
- Completed master’s in education or related field required for admission.
- Up to 30 credits may be transferred from related prior master’s coursework.
- Courses that relate to the student learning objectives of the following three out of the five HED courses and taken within the last five years:
