Overview

This five-year program combines a bachelor’s degree in the College of Visual and Performing Arts together with the Music Business MS degree in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Admission Requirements

Students considering this program are strongly encouraged to speak to an academic advisor as soon as possible upon entering Syracuse University. Completing the program in five years requires careful planning.

To be eligible for admission to the program, students must be admitted to the College of Visual and Performing Arts according to the normal procedure. The decision on whether to admit the student into Newhouse will be based primarily on the student’s undergraduate academic record.

Students in their junior year or who have completed 60 credits may apply to the Music Business graduate program through the 4+1. Students must have a 3.25 GPA to be accepted into the program.

Students in this program will complete all the requirements for a bachelor’s degree and for the Music Business MS in five years. Students will receive receiving the bachelor’s degree after four years and the MS after the fifth year.

Students will take the following credits of Newhouse graduate coursework during their senior year of their undergraduate degree program.
