CSD 212  Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders  (3 Credits)

Application of biology, physics, anatomy, physiology, and cognitive psychology to processes of speech, language, and hearing. Nature of disruptions to normal communication and scientific principles of prevention, diagnosis, and remediation. Cannot receive credit for both CSD 212 and CSD 303.

Supervised practicum in clinic, hospital, early intervention, or school setting. Includes planning, staffing, implementation, modification, and outcomes assessment of evaluation and intervention procedures with clients and their families; professional issues addressed in regular seminar meetings.
