Overview
This five-year program combines a bachelor's degree in the Whitman School of Management together with an MA or MS degree in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Admissions Process
Students considering this program are strongly encouraged to speak to an academic advisor as soon as possible upon entering Syracuse University. Completing the program in five years requires careful planning.
To be eligible for admission to the program, students must have been admitted to Whitman according to normal procedure. The decision on whether to admit the student into Newhouse will be based primarily on the student's undergraduate academic record.
Students in their junior year or who have completed 60 credits may apply to the Newhouse graduate programs through the 4+1. Students must have a 3.25 GPA to be accepted into the program.
Students in this program will complete all the requirements for a bachelor's degree and for a Newhouse master's degree in five years. Students will receive the bachelor's after four years and the master's after the fifth year. Courses required for each of the available master's degree programs are provided below.
