5-week technical workshops. Students learn basics of working with non-ferrous metal on a small scale. Each process will be demonstrated. Students produce samples demonstrating their ability to execute each process.

Technical workshop. Students learn basics of woodworking including associated tools and equipment. Tools will be demonstrated. Students will construct a 2D and 3D projects using skills learned in class. Safe work practices emphasized.

Hands-on workshop introduces the basics in techniques of papermaking including: eastern fibers, eastern sheet formation, western fibers, western sheet formation, using the Hollander beater, and the history of papermaking.

This hands-on workshop introduces the basics of letterpress printing. Students learn how to hand set metal and wood type and print on Vandercook press. Students create and print photopolymer plates.

This hands-on workshop introduces the student to the basics in techniques of monotype and monoprint; including: reductive and additive monotype methodologies and monoprint printing and editioning.

Various techniques utilized to create gig posters, including: screenprint, broadside letterpress, and copy machine/scanner collage. Those methodologies and their uses, history, and cultural context are discovered through studying examples, discussions and hands-on experimentation.

This 1 credit course is intended for the student who has taken at least one printmaking course and intends to continue working in that medium. By registering for this course, students receive the proper training to work independently and have access to the print studio during open-studio hours.

Hands-on workshop introduces the student to the basics in techniques of black and white woodcut printmaking. Students will create a pop-up printshop and print large-scale blocks with a steamroller at a public art event.
