In this skills-based course, students survey digital best practices in data journalism, web presentation, and data visualization. Students will study the basic functions and integral properties of data analysis, HTML/CSS, and data visualization/presentation.

This course examines how journalists and news organizations use emerging forms of social media and mobile platforms. Students gain hands-on experience by experimenting with social media and mobile devices for newsgathering, distribution, and audience engagement.
